  • Advisor to Board of Commissioner, Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK), (August 2012 to Dec 2012). As a senior member of Transition Team OJK, responsible for leading initiative to develop organizational structure, framework, systems and tools on financial stability and banking regulation and supervision area. Advising OJK’s Boards on financial stability and supervisory issues.
  • Director, Banking Research and Regulation Department.  Project Leader of Banking Supervision Policy Development and Basel 2 Implementation Initiative (Jul 2010 to present). Responsible to lead a dedicated team to review and improve Bank Indonesia’s banking supervision framework toward more principle based, risk-based, dynamic and forward looking, as well as to formulate policy and regulation for Basel II implementation for Indonesia’s banking industry. One of the most strategic project in BI during the last five years aimed at improving the effectiveness of BI’s banking supervision and the quality of banking industry risk management. Reports to BI’s Deputy Governors as project owners.
  • Member of Various Task Forces: Financial Stability Board’s Emerging Market and Developing Economies (EMDE) Review Group responsible to review the impact of global financial reform to EMDEs, Working Group of Financial System Stability Forum, responsible for developing Indonesian Financial Safety Nets framework and crisis management policy and protocols. Leads team to prepare BI’s Law amendment and BI’s Crisis Management Protocol. Coordinator of Working Group of Basel II implementation in Indonesia. As a member of OJK Preparation Team responsible for managing transition to OJK on regulatory and supervisory matters.
  • Executive Bank Supervisor (Team Leader), Bank Supervision Team, Directorate of Bank Supervision I (Feb 2008 – Jun 2010). Responsible to lead a team to supervise a large state-owned bank and a mid-size regional development bank. Successfully took actions against problem bank, including dismissed politically connected bank’s management.
  • Executive Bank Supervisor (Head), Special Bank Supervisor Group, Directorate of Bank Supervision I (Feb 2008 – Mar 2009). Responsible to lead and perform a risk focused examination on major banks. As a member of Working Group in Financial System Stability Forum, responsible for developing Indonesian Financial Safety Nets framework and crisis management policy and protocols.

  • Senior Analyst (Initiative Leader), Transformation Program Unit – Banking Workstream (Oct 2001 – Jul 2002). Responsible for developing: (i) risk-based training & certification program for bank supervisor; (ii) transferring plan of supervisory function from BI to a new agency; and (iii) framework and organization of BI’s new financial system stability function. BI’s financial stability framework and the establishment of Financial System Stability Bureau were highly appreciated by the Board.
  • Team Leader, On-site Supervisory Presence (OSP) at two largest state-owned banks (Aug 2000 – Oct 2001). Responsible for: (i) leading the OSP Team in implementing a risk-based supervisory strategy; (ii) assessing and monitoring bank’s risks, prepare bank’s risks profile; and (iii) recommending corrective and preventive actions to the Bank’s management. Worked closely with the technical advisor of the IMF in developing risk-based supervisory strategy and tools.
  • Bank Supervisor, Banking Supervision Dept. 2, BI (Oct 1996 – Jul 2001). Responsible for supervising a large state-owned bank and three joint venture banks, and reviewing banks’ business plan as part of banking restructuring program. Counterpart of McKinsey & Co. to design bank’s business plan review methodology and to review banks’ business plan. Actively involved in financial review of banks and in problem banks resolution in line with banking restructuring program.
